Course Overview
Advanced Architecting on AWS is an advanced, three-day classroom training course focused on solving complex architectural challenges using AWS services and features. The course uses scenarios, group discussions, use cases, assessments, and hands-on labs to develop practical architectural decision-making skills.
The course covers multi-account management, hybrid connectivity, AWS Transit Gateway, specialized infrastructure, containers, CI/CD, high availability and DDoS protection, data security, data lakes, large-scale applications, cost optimization, and workload migration. It concludes with a capstone project requiring learners to apply architectural concepts to real-world scenarios.
Course Objective
- Review the AWS Well-Architected Framework and apply cloud design best practices
- Implement centralized permissions management using AWS Organizations, OUs, SCPs, and AWS Single Sign-On
- Design hybrid connectivity solutions using AWS Client VPN, Site-to-Site VPN, AWS Direct Connect, and Amazon Route 53 Resolver
- Configure and evaluate AWS Transit Gateway connectivity and related network services
- Evaluate container solutions and deploy applications using Amazon ECS and AWS Fargate
- Design CI/CD automation using AWS developer tools and AWS CloudFormation StackSets
- Identify and implement AWS security and DDoS protection services, including AWS WAF, AWS Shield Advanced, AWS Network Firewall, and AWS Firewall Manager
- Secure data in transit, at rest, and in use using AWS KMS, AWS CloudHSM, and AWS Secrets Manager
- Design and implement large-scale data stores, data lakes, edge services, and scalable application architectures
- Evaluate AWS migration options and cost management approaches and apply them to architectural scenarios
Pre-requisites
Knowledge and experience with core AWS services in the Compute, Storage, Networking, and AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) categories. Recommended preparation includes attending Architecting on AWS, achieving the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certification, or having at least one year of experience operating AWS workloads.
