Course Overview
DevOps Engineering on AWS is an intermediate-level course covering DevOps practices, tools, and technologies used to develop, deliver, and maintain applications and services on AWS. The course focuses on infrastructure automation, CI/CD, microservices, containers, serverless computing, automated testing, security automation, configuration management, and observability.
The course includes hands-on activities involving AWS CloudFormation, AWS CodePipeline, AWS CodeBuild, AWS CodeDeploy, Docker, Amazon ECS, AWS Fargate, AWS Lambda, AWS SAM, and other AWS DevOps tools. Learners also explore deployment strategies, security integration, monitoring, and multi-environment CI/CD workflows. Course Objective
- Apply DevOps best practices to develop, deliver, and maintain applications and services on AWS
- Describe the roles and responsibilities of small autonomous DevOps teams
- Design and implement AWS infrastructure that supports DevOps development projects
- Use AWS Cloud9, AWS CLI, AWS SDKs, AWS SAM CLI, and AWS CDK for development and automation
- Deploy and manage AWS environments using AWS CloudFormation
- Integrate Git repositories and AWS development tools into CI/CD pipelines
- Automate application building, testing, packaging, and deployment using AWS DevOps services
- Build CI/CD pipelines for EC2, serverless, and container-based applications
- Implement deployment strategies including all-at-once, rolling, and blue/green deployments
- Integrate automated testing, security, configuration management, and observability into DevOps workflows
Pre-requisites
- Previous attendance at Systems Operations on AWS or Developing on AWS
- Working knowledge of a high-level programming language such as C#, Java, PHP, Ruby, or Python
- Intermediate knowledge of administering Linux or Windows systems at the command-line level
- Two or more years of experience provisioning, operating, and managing AWS environments
